The LEOWSTRONG BIKE RIDE is a fund-raising event that honors and remembers the late Dr. Tom Leow, an orthopedic surgeon in the community for 17 years, who passed away in November 2015 of cancer.
Tom was well-known for his enthusiasm for both his Ironman and long-distance biking.
He and his family were regulars of the Menominee River Century Bike Ride, now known as the LEOWSTRONG BIKE RIDE.
The goal of the LEOWSTRONG BIKE RIDE is to help and support those with chronic illness, encourage healthy lifestyles and to keep Tom’s memory alive and active in the community. All proceeds from the ride are kept local and support the Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA’s vital mission work in our community.
Dollars through the YMCA’s annual campaign support community hunger needs, memberships that create friendships & opportunities, accessible child care, support for chronic disease, community volunteer work, & more.
This beautiful summer ride will take you smoothly through Menominee County country roads, along the river into the northern woods of Wisconsin and then back into Michigan. The ride is inclusive for every type of rider from the weekend family experience to the long distanced experienced, able bodied, or non able bodied. We've partnered with the Bellin Stroke Survivor group to provide an inclusive ride for all abilities!
